The Show Goes On:

Situation Interactive Digital/Social Work

From October 2017 to April 2018 I worked for Situation Interactive, a small New York digital agency specializing in Broadway and other experience-based clients. Over those months I wrote copy for variety of shows, all with their unique tone and style, and used my skills to help them dominate the digital world.

LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS

When John Leguizamo's new one-man show hired Situation as their digital agency, I took the lead on bringing its voice to life online, helping John teach the internet about Latin History throughout the show's entire run, from first previews to closing night.

Social Content:

Bringing my command of both English and Spanish as well as my ability to match tone and style to bear, I crafted social copy and design concepts that reflected the spirit of the show for all social channels from October 29th through February 28th.

Video Scripts:

To urge fans of Broadway and John Leguizamo alike to see the show in it's final weeks, I wrote scripts for this playlist of videos that captured John's singular personality. His thoughts on them? "Hah! These are funny."

Uproarious, uncensored, and undeniably entertaining-John Leguizamo-the theatrical powerhouse is back on Broadway in his one-man tour de force performance. A sold-out run at The Public Theater. A record-breaking engagement at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Endless critical and audience acclaim.

Website Copy And Translation

My Spanish fluency was perfect for translating the show's website, and my English mastery was on full display as I added blocks of copy and masterminded an extension showcasing John's recommended reading list.

CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY ON BROADWAY

As I was joining situation Charlie and The Chocolate Factory was leaving New York and preparing for its national tour, and I was tasked with giving the adaptation of Roald Dahd's timeless classic a sweet sendoff in the digital world.

Social Content:

In the months leading up to closing night, I brought the novel and show's playful magic to digital life, writing copy and creating design concepts from October 28th to January 14th.

Video Script:

To celebrate Charlie And The Chocolate Factory's Broadway run, I scripted this video celebrating all of the show's favorite moments.

THE NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW

In the lead-up to the 2018 iteration of America's largest auto show, I put my copywriting skills to the test building both hype and ticket sales, writing copy and creating design concepts for the show's social channels from January 31st through the show's start on March 28th.

ANYTHING ELSE?

For all the above clients, I also wrote copy and came up with design concepts for paid ads on social media, banners, email campaigns, and various other miscellaneous treatments, and acted as a community manager on all platforms.

RESULTS

It might not be the most popular phrase on Broadway, but the numbers don't lie. My copy contributed to a boost in sales in Charlie and The Chocolate Factory's last few months in the big apple, giving the show a truly delumptious sendoff.

As for Latin History for Morons: boosted in part by my work, John Leguizamo's most recent one-man classroom became the first play of the 2017-2018 season to recoup its Broadway investment, a remarkable success in an industry where no play is guaranteed to recoup at all.
